Last night’s virtual BET Awards celebrated 20 years of highlighting excellence in Black-led entertainment. The Awards were held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions. The 20th Anniversary theme was “Our Culture Can’t Be Canceled” with all artists and performances making sure to highlight the Black Lives Matter movement and the fight for equal rights.

Beyoncé Receives the Humanitarian Award
Introduced by former first lady Michelle Obama, Beyoncé accepted the Humanitarian Award during the BET Awards for her philanthropic work and relief efforts during the COVID-19 crisis. Beyoncé used her speech to encourage viewers to vote “like our life depends on it” in the upcoming election.
Amanda Seales Hosts BET Awards 2020
Comedian, Actress and TV personality, Amanda Seales hosted the 2020 BET Awards. She covered several topics including the death of Breonna Taylor, racial equality and clapped back at actor Terry Crews for his “Black supremacy” comment.

Rapper DaBaby replicates the last, chilling moments of George Floyd’s life in his video “Rockstar.”
Lil Wayne Tributes Kobe Bryant
Lil Wayne pays tribute to the Black Mamba with a performance of his song “Kobe Bryant”. We miss you, Kobe.
Megan Thee Stallion Performs “Savage”
Megan Thee Stallion went to the desert with background dancers as she twerked and rapped her Number One hit, Savage. She won best female hip-hop artist, beating out fellow nominees, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj.
Twelve-Year Old Keedron Bryant Performs “I Just Wanna Live”
The 12-year-old sensation Keedron Bryant started the show with an a cappella performance of his poignant song “I Just Wanna Live”, which earned him a record deal.
Summer Walker and Usher Perform “Come Thru”
Summer Walker and Usher gave an amazing performance of their 2019 hit song, Come Thru, while maintaining social distancing guidelines. The entire set up of the song was romantic with pink hues and definitely brought through the R&B vibes.
